I love performing on Hallow’s Eve as I get to haul out those seasonal rare halloween tunes. Of course I do sing other gems that have been in my repertoire for years.. like this one ‘Aged and Mellow Blues’. I first heard “Little Esther’’ aka Esther Phillips sing this song ages ago.. I loved it right away and I knew that I too wanted to sing this great bluesy number! Esther recorded this in 1952 at the age of 16! Hah.. probably too young to sing it.. but you’d never know it listening to her version. Accompanying me on this night was Michael ‘the hand’ Shand on piano and George Koller on bass.
